Believing in the important role played by youth, The United Nations Joint Team for HIV/ AIDS conducted one day workshop with 28 youth participants from four different youth led organizations. The event comes as part of the National AIDS Advocacy Campaign focusing on increasing HIV/AIDS awareness among youth and engaging them in the response. It is important for the global community to end AIDS as a public threat, hence, to achieve that, young people have to be fully engaged and in the lead of the response.
Youth participants were from Y-Peer, Egyptian Family Planning Association, International Federation for Medical Students Association- Egypt and Egyptian Novice Nurse and Students’ Scientific Association. Each youth led organization has put in a plan to start engaging other peers in the HIV response. UNAIDS will follow-up closely with them to ensure smooth process for both participants and their peers.
